Quincy University announces Taylor Reis as the next head women’s soccer coach
Quincy University is pleased to announce Taylor Reis as the next head women’s soccer coach after six seasons as QU’s assistant men’s soccer coach. Reis becomes the sixth head women’s soccer coach in program history.
“I would like to thank President Brian McGee and Athletic Director Josh Rabe for trusting me to lead this historic program,” said Reis. “This program has a rich history of success, and we are fortunate to have an incredible soccer community in the Quincy area that we must continue to support and engage with.”
“Taylor Reis has an impressive record as a player and coach, and we are delighted he will lead our women’s soccer program,” said Brian McGee, QU president. “As an alumnus and coach, he has devoted much of his adult life to soccer at Quincy University. Coach Reis has earned this opportunity to lead, and we are excited to work with him in this critical new role.”
Reis spent four seasons as a full-time assistant coach with men’s soccer after spending his first two years as a graduate assistant with the program. In that time, the Hawks had four seasons with a .500 record or more and helped produce eight All-GLVC players, including GLVC Freshman of the Year Kingsford Adjei. Reis also was the Hawks’ student assistant coach during his final student year at Quincy and helped coach the boys’ soccer team at Quincy Notre Dame
High School to a Class 1A State Championship title in the same year.
“We are thrilled to welcome Taylor Reis as the new head coach of our women’s soccer program,” said QU Athletic Director, Josh Rabe. “Coach Reis brings a tremendous work ethic, and infectious passion for soccer and a deep commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. We are confident that Taylor’s leadership and vision will take our program to new heights, and we look forward to an exciting future under his guidance.”
As a student, Reis played for the Hawks from 2014-2016 and produced 22 goals and 61 points for the Hawks in his three-year tenure. During this time, Reis was named First Team All-GLVC twice, NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches) Division II All-Region Team twice, and GLVC Offensive Player of the Year during the 2015 season. His freshman campaign was highlighted by a Third Team All-GLVC honor and a trip to the NCAA Division II Final Four.
“I am excited to welcome the team back from break and to build on the positive trajectory I was left with,” said Reis. “I look forward to sharing my knowledge, passion, and love for the game with both the team and the Quincy community.”
Reis is a two-time graduate of Quincy University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finished his MBA in 2021.
